Buy a new Computer and join the information age.

There are a few false reasons not to buy a computer and join the information age.

1. It is expensive.

2. There is too much immoral content on the net.
3. There is nothing there I need.

The first one is a very common misconception. The net is in actuality very cheap to use. Many many websites that are useful are absolutely free to you the consumer.

"What about email?" An email account is generally offered to you free of charge when you sign up to purchase internet access. Internet access itself is normally very cheap. Dial up rates can be found for as little as $10.00 a month. There are even internet service suppliers that will offer you access for free. (though there is usually a long distance phone number associated with it when there wouldn't be with a local supplier) "What about America Online?" While American Online is a nice collection of internet applications, all of those kinds of applications are available to download from the net for free. Aol's search utility can be replaced by going to google.com. Aol's instant messenger can be replaced with ICQ or MSN Instant Messenger. Aol's email can be replaced with the free email that you get from your internet service supplier.

There is too much immoral content on the net.
This is another misconception, while there are plenty of sites of dubious moral character on the net, you generally have to be looking for them to find them. If you have children that might be using the computer and the internet there is parental control software available. To keep children from straying into dangerous territory. The net is like the world and shows an accurate cross section of the world. Including a proportional amount of ne'er-do-wells.

There is nothing there I need

All from the comfort and security of your computer room.

In the end it can be said about the computer and the internet that they are very powerful tools to help you do whatever it is you want to do.
