Step 1. Start from your desktop and click on the
Apple in the upper-left corner. Go down to Control Panels and select
PPP.

Step 2. Enter your username@domain.com
for name, your Password and your dial up internet access number.

Step 3. Click on the PPP drop-down menu and select
TCP/IP. (Note: The PPP Control Panel must be the active window in order
to see the PPP menu.)

Step 4. In the TCP/IP window, make sure of the following
4 settings:
Connect via: is set to PPP.
Configure: is set to Using PPP Server.
Name Server Address: these numbers should be supplied by your
ISP
Additional Search Domains can be blank or have your ISP domain
in it.
Close out of this window and save your changes.

Step 5. Click on the PPP drop-down menu and select
Modem. (Note: The PPP Control Panel must be the active window in order
to see the PPP menu.)

Step 6. In the Modem window, make sure of the following
2 settings:
Connect via: The correct port must be selected. Typically this would
be the Modem Port or Internal Port, depending upon the type of modem
and how it is connected.
Modem: The correct type of modem needs to be selected. Most likely the
one that is selected already is correct, but if you know for sure that
you have a different modem, select one from the list that most closely
matches yours. Close out of this window and save your changes

Step 7. On the PPP Control Panel, click the Options
Button

Step 8. On the Options window, make sure the Connection
tab is selected. Check the box labels "Connect automatically when
starting TCP/IP applications." Press OK. Setup is now complete,
just click connect to dial. |
